Introduction

Hi everyone! @LivingUKTaiwan here with the weekend edition of the #traveldigest. It's been a week since we moved, and it's great to see the activity building up again. However, we'd love to see more travel posts so we can curate them. Some of the early supporters have been fantastic and delegated to us already so we can support the travel community better. So come and share your travel storeis with us. By they way, have you followed @pinmapple on Hive yet for all the best travel content? And, if you haven't yet, do join our contest Taking Mr Pinmapple on a trip! 🍍😎

#1 Escape to a Bygone Era - Drostdy Museum, Swellendam by @lizelle

This museum really made us walk as it spreads over three properties. Mayville, the residence of the Drostdy took us on a long garden pathway. This beautiful home was built between 1853 - 1855 in the Cape Dutch style with Cape Georgian detail. One can just imagine the ladies of the Victorian era sitting on the vine covered stoep (veranda), sipping tea out of fine China cups. The famous rose garden was a little bare because of the long drought the Western Cape experienced. The Hydrangeas must have looked magnificent during December, we call them Christmas Roses here.

#2 Blowing Rocks Beach Preserve by @greddyforce

When I was driving along Florida's east coast I had planned to visit a place called Blowing Rocks reserve. It is located pretty close to the West Palm beach. In the Blowing Rocks beach, you can find some strange rock formations along the waterline. You might as why is it called like this. When the current is high and waves are bigger then these rocks blow water up really high in the air. Sadly the conditions were not right at the time I was there.

#3 A Drive in the Woods by @oldmans

Hello all! We escaped isolation for a day and went for a drive in the woods. We had been walking in the woods near our house but decided we needed a change. It was slated to be one of the last nice days for a while so we hopped in the Jeep and took off on some back roads near our house.
