Expedition to Ox Mountain 800 Mdpl, Biodiversity observation and see Banda Aceh City from altitude. Aceh, Indonesia.

in #traveldigest6 years ago (edited)

Hello steemian friend, @bonesumpal here. Welcome to my adventurer, enjoy.

Actually this planning is not mature, but this trip we managed to do. Here's the chronology.

DAY 1

This trip has long been done, but only this time I can post. I was (in 2013) in Banda Aceh City to visit my Bojang Canal friend. A few days in my Base Camp Mapala Canal have started all over, I have an idea to enjoy the city of Banda Aceh from a height. I tried to convey my idea to him (Bojang), the result he agreed with the idea that I convey. We started packing things that will be used for there, of course according to the needs in the field. It's just that we did not have enough money to buy food, we took the initiative to go home to take rice and other food at home. Of course we have a target to get to Puncak and to go home.

By the end of packing, we immediately moved to the last village to meet the Village Apparatus while taking care of the permit. Gunung Goh Lembu is located in the village of Lamguron, Peukan bada, Aceh Besar. This mountain has a height of 800 Mdpl or 2,625 feet. Although not too high, but still tired.

Upon our arrival at Lamguron Peukan Bada Village, we went straight to the Village Secretary's house to report that they would know that we were going to an expedition to Mount Goh Lembu. We chatted a lot at that time, did not feel the time was at 18:00 pm. I and Bojang Canal soon took leave and went straight up, our target had to arrive at Post 1 before dark.

At 18:45 it was getting dark, I forced Bojang to profit faster. But because his body Bojang fat, I must be patient with slow walking. Heading 1 is still very far away, while the day is dark. We rested for a moment waiting for Azan Magrib to finish, after which we continued our journey. Something was forgotten at that moment, the flashlight. The most needed tool during the night trip, luckily I have a mobile phone that has a flashlight. Although not very bright light, but can be used to see the path. We continued the journey back to Post 1. It's been two hours we walked but there was not a single hut encountered, I kept walking looking for huts for a stopover. Because the trip is unlikely we continue considering the path conditions are not clearly visible. I kept walking looking for huts, Bojang was very weak. I see a small hut that can be occupied temporarily, I immediately embrace the Bojang to rest there. We will spend the night in a small lodge and will continue the journey the next day.

That night we did not play too long outside, finished our dinner chatting briefly and then went to bed. Finding a cottage for a bed is a survival technique if it does not bring camping gear, this ascent is purely an expedition. Lighting fire is a sign that there is life and avoid the attack of wild animals.

**DAY 2**

Welcome to the morning, we made it through a stressful night. Our body was fresh again, we are ready to continue the journey again.

We have a trick to take pictures to look both, which is to set the time mode and put it on the bag.

All is clearly visible, the lush trees are visible. After breakfast we will continue our journey to Pos 1 to collect water supply and continue our journey to the top. I will make observations during the trip, of course what I think is rare. Be it plants and animals.

At 09.00 am we moved and at 09.30 we arrived at Post 1. We took a short break while filling the water supply. Heading 1 is the last location where there is a source of water, and even then it is cleft of stone.

Distance from Post 1 to peak is near, approximately 2-3 hours running normally. After filling the water supply, I and Bojang continue the journey back. I remain focused with my goal, the observations along the path of seeing which I find strange and rare. There are several plants that I encounter red betel, rattan, parasite stone. There is also a spiderweb type Tarantula.

The above pictures are the result of my observations along the path of climbing.

I and Bojang will rest for a while, just 1 hour away we will get to the top. The condition of the path leading to the peak of many sharp and sharp rocks, we must be careful. Usually where rocks are favored by stone snakes, we have to focus and sharp in seeing.

After the condition of the body has started normal, we continue the journey to the top.

Finally we arrived at the peak fitting at noon, I will issue equipment to cook rice. After that I will go around to see the nice beauty to take pictures. Because as a nature lover I have been taught ethics-activities in the activities of freedom, one of which is prohibited to take something except to take pictures. That is important to learn dialam and study the room.

Mount Goh Lembu peak has a monument with code T. 3350 as shown in the picture. According to the story, the monument was made during the Dutch period. The story is evidenced by the Tomb around the top or behind the monument.

Rice is ripe, me and Bojang eat while looking at the City of Banda Aceh. Not only that, the hills and the loose seas are also visible.

Never complain in any situation, learning from nature will make me mature. These are the motivational words I often cultivate.

After eating, I will take some panoramic pictures from the top of Mount Goh Lembu. After that me and Bojang will go down, we do not stay overnight. Although not having time to see the sparkling city lights at night, I was grateful to see beautiful scenery. Someday I'll come back here with a different story.

We're ready to clean up all the equipment, we'll be down. All praise of my gratitude and Bojang to be greeted safely.

Ascent times have a lot of experience and science that I have to take, because as the saying goes "Experience is the most precious teacher".

Thank you for seeing, reading and appreciating this post. Hopefully the results of what you read so useful and useful, hopefully your days are fun. Greetings of the jungle ...
