The "Menara Condong" is a clock tower located in Teluk Intan, Perak. It has been a landmark of Teluk Intan for a long time. The uniqueness of the tower is that it resembles the Tower of Pisa in Italy. The tower was built in 1885 and it has a height of 85 feet and there are 110 steps. Despite being over 100 years old, it still stands strong and quite tilted and slightly tilted.

This tower is actually a reservoir of water before the water tank in Changkat Jong. This three-storey building is furnished with large clocks. Now the tower is not used anymore and it is only a tourist attraction visiting the city of Teluk Intan. At the bottom is decorated with beautiful landscapes like flower pots, marble floor and lounge chairs for family rest.

The "Menara Condong" is not as inclined as it is today. The person responsible for building this "Menara Jam" is Leong Choon Cheong or Ah Cheong. As an architect he was inspired to build with such designs based on the pagoda building in China. After 10 years of construction, in 1895 there was a big flood in Teluk Intan until the tower was sinking. Floods that occur with heavy water burden are believed to be.

In Japan (1942-1945) this "Menara Jam" building was used as a control tower to see the arrival of the enemy. This wooden building used as a military building by the Japanese has caused damage especially at the top. Now this sloping building gets the nickname of the second "Menara Condong" in the world after Pisa in Italy. According to one study, the purpose of building towering towers or also known as "Jam Tinggi" is as follows: to store water for locals during the dry season in ensuring British water management facilities are enhanced for water supply in the event of fire as a guardian of time.

The water tank is located on the third floor made of 16 feet high steel. This tank can contain a total of 680 cubic feet of water. The tower was once used by the National Family Planning Board and Teluk Intan Scout Association. Have you ever come to see the uniqueness of this intact tower in Teluk Intan? If you have the opportunity, come see its own uniqueness.
