What to do in Amsterdam at night?

So my boyfriend and I are going to Europe in a couple of weeks and on our way back to Toronto in August, we have a 16 hour layover in Amsterdam - overnight.

I mean sure we can rent an Airbnb but I haven't been to Amsterdam and I'm actually looking forward to this long layover. Any recommendations?

Please don't say red light district... I'm sure there's more to Amsterdam than these red lights.
