Welcome again Steemian friends to our ongoing tour of incredible Arizona. We saw almost all of the great sites of this wonderful state in our 9 years in Tucson. From Nogales on the Mexican Boarder to the Grand Canyon nothing surpasses Arizona for cultural and scenic divirsity.

From 1912 - 1988 the railroad was a part of the Sante Fe Railroad. It had a regular 38 mile route carrying copper ore to the Clarkedale coper smelter, from Jerome. These are the original tracks in use today.

You will see bald eagles in abundance as you ride the railroad. You will see (above) where native- American cliff dwellers lived hundreds of years ago.

In 1988 David Durbano bought the line and in 1990 The Verde Canyon Railroad was launched. 100,000 people per year now ride this excursion that takes about 4 hours round trip. There is a museum at the boarding station in Clarksville and wine and lunch/appetizers served as well on board.

The Verde Canyon railroad is just south of Sedona, another "must see" in Arizona. In our 9 years in Tucson this railroad excursion is one of our most lasting memories.

I really need to go on this trip.

Those are some Interesting Photos I wish we had a System similar to that in our Country.

What a scenic view! I hope to be able to get to go there someday! Perhaps with my earnings here for a STEEM-powered trip!

you'll like it a lot!

Oh, that looks like a LOT of fun! The only train rides I have ever taken have been touristy and I have loved even the little dinky ones we have done. This looks like an amazing ride!
