Isla Holbox, Mexico

#day342 we decided to head all the way north to #Chiquila, where the #turquoise waters of the #Caribbean meet the darker shades of the #Gulf of Mexico. From there we took the short #ferry ride to #Isla #Holbox, a small #island where the only transport available are golf carts or bicycles on #sand #roads. We had been promised by Lonely Planet, an island untouched by #tourism. Unfortunately this was not true...the tourist industry of the Quintana Roo state seems to have found its way even to this remote island. Yet we still enjoyed four days of total #relaxation, white sand #beaches, #sea and #sun.
