Po-i-Kalyan

Po-i-Kalyan is also called Poi Kalyan – both terms are generally used by Uzbek people. Actually, it is a complex and it has a mosque, a madrassah, a mini courtyard and a minaret. A mosque is a house of worship for Islam believers. A madrassah is similar to an Arabic school and a minaret is like a tower wherein Muslims use to call members of their congregation for prayer. It was established in the 12th century and has been repaired and reconstructed many times. It is one of the most significant mosques in Bukhara, Uzbekistan.
