MY TRIP TO ITALY. LUCCA.

Lucca is a provincial town, which we decided to visit on our way from Pisa to Florence. We had 3-4 only hours to spend in this wonderful town. From the ancient times Lucca and Pisa were contestant with the towers. I think every Italian town has at least one of its tower, in Lucca there are a lot of them. We were lucky to visit only 2 of them. Lucca is generally called a city of towers and churches. It is a city that is completely surrounded by a fortified wall. This wall was built in the XV-XVII centuries to protect the city, length of 4223 meters, with 11 bastions, six external and three internal gate.

Лукка, это провинциальный город, в который мы решили заехать по дороге из Пизы во флоренцию. У нас было всего часа 3-4 на посещение чудесного городка. Лукка издревле конкурировала с Пизой по башням. Мне кажется в каждом Итальянском городе есть хотя бы одна своя башня, в Лукке их много. Лукку вообще называют городом башен и церквей. Город, полностью окружен крепостной стеной, построенной в XV-XVII веках для защиты города. Длинна стены 4223 метра, с 11 бастионами, шестью наружными и тремя внутренними воротами.

On the plate is written on this path walked Jose Maria Escriva de Balaguer, the founder of one of the largest companies of modern Catholics - "Opus Dei".

На табличке написано: по этой тропинке прогуливался Хосе-Мария Эскрива де Балагера, основатель  одной из крупнейших современных организаций католиков - "Opus Dei".

 Church of San Michele in-Foro (Chiesa di San Michele in Foro)/церковь Сан-Микеле-ин-Форо (Chiesa di San Michele in Foro).  

                                 

Church form copies the shape of a large ship. It has a high facade decorated with a marble statue of the Archangel Michael. They say that in the ring, put on his finger, encrusted with a REAL diamond, a gift made by one of parishioners. Also they say, that from a certain place on the square at a certain time of day, you can notice an unusual bright point of light that goes from that diamond. Thats only what they say, we havent seen that, may be it was a wrong time.

Форма Церковь копирует форму большого корабля, у здания высокий фасад, украшенный мраморной статуей Архангела Михаила. Говорят, что в кольцо, которое одето на палец святого, инкрустирован настоящий бриллиант, подарок, сделанный одним из прихожан. А еще говорят, что если встать на площади в определенное место и в определенное время, то можно увидеть необычную яркую точку света, исходящую от этого бриллианта. К сожалению, нам не удалось этого увидеть, возможно время было неподходящее.

The Clock Tower (Torre delle Ore). The height of the Clock Tower of about 50 meters, it is the highest tower of the 130 survived in the city. Inside the building hung enormous weights, and the clock mechanism and bells are at the top. The tower offers a splendid view of the city, so that all of these 50 meter rise is definitely worth it!

Часовая башня (Torre delle Ore). Высота часовой башни около 50 метров это самая высокая башня из 130 сохранившихся в городе.  Внутри сооружения подвешены огромные гири, а на верхней площадке находится часовой механизм и колокола. С башни открывается великолепный вид на город, так что все эти 50 метров подъема определенно того стоят!

Next was Guinigi Tower (Torre Giunigi) it`s 44 meters height also one of the few that have survived to the present day, although at the beginning of the XIV century, the city had more than 250 towers and steeples. Guinigi, the most notable family of the city, decided to ennoble their family tower, placing some oak trees on top  - a symbol of rebirth.    

Затем была башня Гиуниджи (Torre Giunigi), 44 метра высотой, так же одна из немногих, сохранившихся до наших дней, хотя в начале XIV века, в городе было более 250 башен и шпилей. Giunigi была самой знатной семьей Лукки, они решили облагородить свою семейную башню, посадив на ее вершине дубы  - символ возрождения.

                          

                           

  

We really liked this wonderful, beautiful and very charming town. In part, it was very pity to leave it. After climbing the tower with a garden, we had to leave, so we took the time to train. FLORENCE was wating for us.

Нам очень понравился этот замечательный, красивый и очень уютный город. Отчасти было очень жаль покидать его. После подъема на башню с садом, нам пришлось покинуть его, так как мы торопились на поезд. Нас ждала ФЛОРЕНЦИЯ.
