四川省图书馆（新馆）位于成都市青羊区人民西路与西华门街东北夹角，2009年正式开建。新馆占地17亩，建筑面积约5.2万平方米，是现在旧馆的3倍多，建成开放后将成为西南地区最大的图书馆。新馆建筑为简洁现代风格，整体造型神似汉代宫殿门阙，暗示着四川这片土地的历史过往，这也源于新馆选址紧邻原成都皇城所在。新馆高38米，建筑外表面呈浅米黄色，搭配整体建筑形体设计，展现出一种现代兼具历史韵味的城市图书馆形象。

2014年建成后的省图书馆新馆能容纳馆藏图书500余万册，集典藏整理和传统服务、数字化服务、远程服务于一体，将成为中国西部最大的公益性文献信息基地、数据中心、区域文献网络中心、专题文献研究中心和大众文化教育活动中心。新馆将设残疾人阅读区和少儿阅读区，将定期举办公益讲座，市民可办卡免费借阅书籍，查找文献等。

  I've been longing to take a good look of Si Chuan Library since its' openning to the public in 2015. It has a long history The preparation of the building  started from 1896 when Guang Xu was the emperor in Qing dynasty. It 's very big with books more than 5 million and modern , many of which are digital ones. It's the perfect combination of conventional and new service, you can borrow a real book as well as digital ones. And you can come here in person to borrow the books you need or do it remotely .

 Yet with all its convenience, I did not come until today. It is located near Tian Fu Square, the subway station. Within a walk of five minutes after I got off the subway, I saw the building. You have to swipe your ID card to get in. It's indeed large and convenient. You can have a borrower's card withing 10 seconds by registering on the computer with your ID card. It's quiet and well-equipped with desks and chairs for reading. I borrowed 3 books about the future and technology. Hopefully I can get a better grasp of tomorrow after finishing reading them.
