B&M Restoration Engine and Train Ride from White River Junction to Thetford, VT Green Mountain Railroad

If you have never been on an old time train ride, this was one of the neatest experiences. This video from my Youtube shows the Boston & Maine Restoration project of an old engine and coal car, the old station and some photos from the Green Mountain Railroad train ride from the White River Junction station to Thetford, VT.

This trip was a birthday present for my hubby who loves trains. They had old-timey train cars that we rode in. It amazed me how close to the water some of the tracks were! Along the way we saw lakes and forests. You would see the car ahead of you moving from side-to-side separately from the car you were in. So that was pretty wild. The details of the old cars were mostly left intact. So it felt like stepping back into the past.

I don't know if they still run this route, but they still offer similar trips on the Green Mountain Railroad in VT. http://www.rails-vt.com/our-excursions
