Their culture is negative because it's been forced upon them, it's not something they participate in, and so they feel the need to justify it since they see themselves as being unable to escape it. They lend their power to grouphink and forfeit their rights are artists.

In fact culture was meant for all of us to create, and when you awaken as an artist, there's no need to brag, because your art will speak for itself. Your tribe will be a family, not a responsibilit, not a leash. It seems that mainstream culture has oppressed you and taken some very beautiful words from you. Culture and tribe are not dictated by others, you can create these!
