We stayed in one of the most popular place of Rhodes, which is second only to its eponymous capital, a small Greek village of Faliraki, which in a short time transformed into a thriving resort.

Our holiday fell in the middle of September. This time on the island amazing weather, sea as fresh milk, still warm evening. But during the day there is no such sweltering heat in July and August .

For us, the Russian wonder that many foreigners are so lazy that conductive two week vacation to the sea, even not reach. We took a rental car and traveled the island.

It's amazing, though, and the appearance of the Greek church completely different, but when you get inside, you are imbued with the sanctity of the place and feel great ease. Your thoughts become clear and bright.

One of the most famous churches of Rhodes is the church of St. Tsambika, she storing the miraculous icon of the Virgin. It is called - Panagia Tsambika.

On the west coast near the village of Kamiros is an archaeological reserve - is the ancient ruins of the ancient city.

If you drive on the highway along the east coast, and in the resort of Kolymbia turn towards the center of the island, after a few kilometers , you can see a small park called the 7 sources (Epta piges). The park has a small area there are 7 springs that form the stream .

Tunnel "7 sources" laid out a stone, he is so narrow that it can fit in only one adult. When I finally came out of the tunnel, I was happy, in a very dark and scary. I was afraid that the ceiling collapse.

It is in these areas will prepare these local delicacies for you. I especially remember the kleftiko. It is stewed beef in a pot with onions and other vegetables.

But I assure you , everywhere we were fed delicious. even the most simple burger for 2 euros at a roadside cafe appeared fresh and tasty.

I would like to mention a local fast food . here it makes itself felt during the Turkish yoke. Meet this pita gyros . cake wrapped in vegetables, sliced ​​meat , french fries and sauces . almost shawarma. Very delicious.
