Traditional Wedding Ceremony - Mali
Traditional Wedding Ceremony - Bamko , MALI
Mali was once part of three well-known West African empires that controlled the trade in gold, salt, slaves and other valuable products in the Sahara. The official language of Mali is French, and more than 40 African languages are also spoken by different ethnic groups. About 80% of the population of Mali can communicate in Bambara, which is an important language in Mali.
Wedding ceremony in traditional Malian style - people singing songs, dance and have traditional food.
Personally I saw wedding ceremony which was carrying on for a week. Every day they have a visitor, and they celebrate it. Malians people; at them their traditions.
Let me tell you one tradition, which I saw; when the bride comes to the groom. The senior sister of the groom will wash up face, a hand and a leg of the groom including his best friend. As my friend was the best friend to the groom. He sat and was a part of this ceremony.
The supper will be only for close relatives - a boiled bean, beef and rice with a vegetable mixture. At the end, it was really fun and good experience to attend the wedding.
