Oman, the oldest independent state in the Arab world, is one of the most traditional countries in the Gulf region and one of the most isolated countries until the 1970s.

Much of the country's interior lies in the sandy, treeless, waterless area of the Arabian Peninsula known as Rub 'al-Khali. The region is still the domain of the Bedouin nomads, although nowadays it is also flooded with pipelines and pipelines.

Unlike inland, coastal areas are much more hospitable. The lush northern coast of Oman is located between the sea and the mountains inland. This green and fertile region is known for its grapes and other products, as is the Dhofar region in the south of the country. The capital, Muscat, lies along the north coast. The city combines modern and traditional architecture and offers views of the Gulf of Oman and serves as a port and shopping center.
