Trip to Villa Serra

Hi fellows Steemians !!! Today in the afternoon was still hot, so we decided to go to the park of Villa Serra to take some fresh air and enjoy the landscape. Together with the pictures I show you his story:

The architectural complex is surrounded by a large English park, also built in the middle of the nineteenth century, when the Marquis Orso Serra decided to operate a radical transformation of the properties acquired by the Pinelli family.

With the collaboration of marquis Carlo Cusani, amateur entrepreneur and architect, Orso Serra renovated the villa and built in 1851 the Neo-Gothic Tudor style building and a medieval tower. In the surrounding park, extending for nine hectares, with brooks and lakes populated with ducks and swans, were also implanted exotic trees of high stem.

In 1938, at the death of the last descendant of Marquis Serra, the complex became the property of a religious institute, suffered serious damage during the Second World War and during the flood that struck Liguria in 1970, meeting a degradation that continued Until 1982 when it was bought by the Municipalities of Genoa, Sant'Olcese and Serra Riccò, who formed the "Consorzio Villa Serra" for its management. After the first restoration work, lasting a decade, the park was reopened to the public in 1992. The restoration work was completed in 2004.

It was very nice to visit this place, but we found it to be hotter than expected, my girlfriend took a picture while I was suffering the heat XD
