'The Horrors That Are'

If I was to film a horror movie, this would be the place to do it. It's a music nightclub from the eighties, turned into a complete ruin, devastated and left to rot. There are no windows, it may be easily entered. One could find anything inside here, but I doubt that the place can offer more than a great movie location.

The entrance has grown in weed, windows are plucked out, the door is locked but they still accept Diners. Here we have a dystopian commercial.

Do you know how the tv commercials really work and why are they always edited in TV shows? To the contrary of the wide-spread opinion, commercials don't make you buy a specific product but rather direct your mind toward shopping. The easiest way for to plant such a message into a mind is to cut person's relaxed attention while enjoying a favourite show. The shopping idea, the very basis of consumerism system, sinks right into your subconsciousness before you've become aware of it. When that happens over and over a zillion times, you are suddenly a good citizen and a proper shopper, whether you want it, like it or know about it. So is a TV a brainwashing machine that helps the system? It surely is. In a vast number of countries owning a TV is guaranteed, so even if they come for the rest of your property nobody can take away your TV set. Try guessing why is it so...

Commercial trash aside, let's think of a movie. The pitch could be: 'A group of cannibals, living in an abandoned nightclub from the eighties, uses what's left of the kitchen for furthering their gourmet achievements. For that purpose, they're hunting young ladies who are careless enough to fall into their traps made of sweet words and cunning charm.'

Or, we could go with something less realistic: 'Paranormal activity forced the owner of a legendary nightclub to a foreclosure. The place is now haunted by ghosts of guests who died violently in the pub during the eighties road rage shootout. The owner bravely fights against ghosts, until he dies on the premises and becomes one." It could end with another guy buying the place from his widow and jumping right off this balcony.

This is what's left of the bar. I can already see the ghosts in double exposures sitting at the bar or perverted cannibals enjoying their warm delicious meal sitting around a grand massive table. The upper floor is probably also interesting but I don't feel like being arrested for trespassing, today. The door is locked and that's a message enough. I'd put a huge TV set in here for enhancing the horror feeling. :D

If I ever film these stunning horror ideas, please make sure to turn off the sound just before commercial breaks and completely remove your attention from the lure of captivating images. ;-)

Enjoy your day!
