'Main Train Station 2'

crta.png

**While walking the platforms of the train station, I reminiscent of the long train rides I took. I remember a train ride to the coast with my buddies. I couldn't be more than seventeen. Usually, we took the bus but this one time it was a train and it stuck in my memory.

The two long steel lines that take the body far away, and along with it, the mind. I wonder if it is the sound of the train that makes a difference. I doubt it is the speed. Trains are not super-fast here. This is no Japan.

I've taken some seriously fast trains in Tokyo and am not convinced there is any charm left if one sits in a modern, aeroplane-like train. Or stands, like sardines in oil while commuting, for that matter. The feeling gets lost along the way. Commuting is not travelling, anyway. An old train next to the modern one.

These two guys are setting up a rig for a wheelchair. I like when people take care of the ones who need help.

These are pigeon defences, installed on top of an ATM machine. A lot of pigeons live around the train station. Somehow, the place wouldn't be the same without the pigeons. It would be cleaner, some argue, but I didn't have that in mind. They simply add quite a bit to the charm with their presence. Sorry for the unintentional camera shake.

I'll leave these people waiting for their trains, enjoying their moment of relaxation while at it. We just live too fast these days. Wish both our schedules and trains still run really slow. It would let us breathe and see the life as it is, not what people are forcing it to be.

Enjoy your day! :-)

Great post from you

as I wrote earlier - that riding on a train is associated with warm feelings among many people. If in the childhood you went by train then at any age you will also experience the feeling of adventurism. A train is a place where you can detain while on the road. That is, you will have enough time to relax and immerse yourself in reading your favorite book. It's nice.

When you ride the train you feel that it is really massive. But the main distinctive property is sound. Yes, the sound of a moving train is the "calling card" of old trains. Perhaps you are right, modern high-speed rail more like airplanes than trains. Much is changing.

I am pleased to observe the fact that your stations pay attention to people with disabilities. We all need to help those who need help. Understanding and helping each other is one of the differences between a person and other living species. Protection against pigeons looks unusual. I've never seen this before. It looks like small skewers for pigeons. Goluby not so much as to sit on skewers :) Well thought out :)

Have a nice day

Looks like a very intersting journey lol You must have had a great time!

You can actually still get on or off the train here in Yuma, but during the middle of the night. If you go to San Diego (as opposed to El Paso) you are treated to a spectacular 100 year old station that has been fully renovated. It's still a good way to travel. Not like a motorcycle, but good.

The pigeon protector made me laugh. We have them all over here, and they aren't as effective as the salesman that sold them promised :)

Thanks for another great look at your city. Always appreciated.

All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt

mmmm... yes they are, indeed ;)

The railway station is a place to raise and lower passengers using rail transport services. In addition to the station, in the past, also with a train that has the same function with the railway station. For newly built areas / towns may be used as train stops. Contribute greatly to more facilities than small stations to support comfort, for passengers, such as waiting rooms (air conditioned VIPs), restaurants, toilets, mosques, parking areas , facilities (Polsuska), means of communication, locomotive depot, and refueling facilities.

AS I told you before railway stations are just loving! it is just more than amazing that many people sit there at railway stations and wait for a train and then travel together!
some people are ignorant, but they become good friends during the journey and it's starting a new life for some :)
