Cost of living in Bulgaria. Sofia prices

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Recently I showed spa prices in Bulgarian grocery stores. However, in the center of the country and especially in Sofia, food prices are lower than on the coast and there is more choice. Now I will show you how much some products cost in Sofia Kaufland. Not the cheapest, by the way, the store. In Sofia there are prices and below, and there are cheaper shops.

This is a very big food retailer for Sofia. Now there are not enough buyers, because the Bulgarians have a holiday season.

Red price tags mean a markdown. These pears are sold at a price of 2 leva per kilogram (1 euro).

The gherkins themselves are not visible here - they are in the bottom drawer. The price per kilogram is 0.99 leva (0.50 euros).

Young potatoes: 1 kg worth 0.59 lv (0.30 euros).

Tomatoes (orange) - 1.79 lv (0.91 euros).

Olive oil (sechtin), different producers and volumes. In the lower right corner, the bottle 0.25 is sold at a price of 10.99 lv (5.63 euros). This is a category of extra virgin.

The usual vegetable oil is 2.29 lv (1.17 euros) per liter. Nearby is cheaper.

Russian emigrants like to search everywhere for buckwheat and complain that it is nowhere to be found. This is not the case: buckwheat in Bulgaria, all stores, different varieties and at different prices. And she is also in Kaufland.

A pack of 500 grams costs 4.39 lv (2.25 euros).

Peas also have: 500 grams - 0.99 lv (0.50 euros).

Granulated sugar. For some reason, in August it always becomes cheaper - in winter there were two leva and more. Now it costs 1.59 lv (0.81 euros), I saw it cheaper.

This photo was made for salmon (imported). Bank 240 gr is worth 5.49 lv (2.81 euros).

Vinische is different - there are three stands.

Beiliss discounted: 20.29 BGN (10.40 euros).

Here you can see the prices for rum bacardi, and the price tag for Hennessy did not accidentally climb in and I do not even remember how much it was there. 1 euro is equal to 1.95 lev.

Who remembers the brandy of Pliska? A bottle of 0.5 liters costs 8.55 BGN (4.38 euros).

Well, this brandy exactly remember everything: Slynchev bryag (0.7 liters) - 9.19 lv (4.71 euros).

This white cheese is called a siren. I wrote about him the day before yesterday. All prices are per kilogram. Course: 1 euro is equal to 1.95 lev.

Long stand with frozen fish. Fresh fish in Sofia is only trout (pasta) or imported from Greece. All the rest is thawed or that's it.

Meat and minced meat. Basically pork. Mincemeat 50/50 (holy and light) costs 7.29 lv (3.73 euros) per kilo.

Chicken fillet 9.69 lv (4.96 euros), debarking 3.69 lv (1.89 euros) and wings. All this is called a saw, a pilchete, a pilica.

"Nut" is a very good sausage Bulgarian brand. That's why it's expensive - 24.45 lv and 25.45 lv (13.05 euro) per kilo.

Cheap Bulgarian sausage is not tasty. It is better for this money to take German in Liedla. The Germans are all delicious :-)

Bulgarian cheese: kashkaval and sirens. We do not buy Kashkaval, I do not like it. For ten years and have not got used. Prices are for packing. The rate of 1 euro is equal to 1.95 leva.

Camembert (3.95 levs per pack - 2.02 euros), brie (3.95 levs per pack - 2.02 euros).

German cheeses. The cost is indicated for packing, otherwise the price per kilogram starts from 12 lv (6.15 euros).

Balkan yoghurts: in Bulgarian is called kiselo mlyako. The Russians know it under the name of sword yogurt. Very good, valuable and versatile product. The price depends on the brand, fat content and packaging. There is buffalo, sheep and cow. The cheapest here was mashed "Elena" from cow's milk: 400 grams - 0.68 lv (0.34 euros)

Butter. The cheapest here is German - 250 grams worth 3.99 lv (2.04 euros).

Egg. A dozen M categories are sold at a price of 1.79 lv (0.91 euros).

The average check of our trip to this store is always 100 leva (51.28 euros) and a little higher, if it's not pre-holiday days - then more. We are here no more often than once a month.

Thank you for your time and attention.
