Daydreaming travel - Streets of São Paulo #2 / Calles de São Paulo #2 (eng/esp).
Continuing with the memories of this trip, this time I present a small series of photographs taken in the vicinity of the Municipal Theater of São Paulo. Located in Praça Ramos De Azevedo (Portuguese for square), this theater is a milestone of architecture, the project carried out by the architect Ramos de Azevedo , it was inaugurated in 1911. With influence of the Paris Opera, the construction was considered very daring for the time.
I share with you a series of street photographs that I took randomly during my stay, nothing very professional. At the time, I had a Kodak Easy Share c653 digital camera, the photos are not very spectacular, but definitely worth sharing.
Its exterior architecture has Baroque Renaissance features of the seventeenth century. There are six bronze sculptures on the main façade of the Theater, with the two main sculptural groups entitled "Music" and "The drama". Also on the main facade there are two sculptures of Atlantes in sandstone. Four busts of white marble distributed in the lateral facades represent the following Greek muses: Euterpe (lyric poetry and music), Thalia (comedy), Melpoméne (tragedy) and Terpsichore (dance).
Trying to talk to the people who passed by (I don't speak portuguese, but it's quite similar to spanish), I found out that the theater has underground passages in the basement with exit to the Praça Ramos De Azevedo . These passages were originally constructed with the intention of ventilating the theater.
Art is not only inside the theater, let's say that it overflows from it. In the vicinity of it, you find people painting, drawing and even singing. Art is something that is not lacking in São Paulo. This time, an older man caught my attention, sitting with his keyboard in the middle of the street, performing nothing more and nothing less than songs by the King of Rock & Roll , Elvis Presley.
Great photographs @vanessapineda7. They capture the mood of the place well. I love the detail on the lamp post! 😊
They were all different, i wish i could show them all!
I know what you mean @vanessapineda7. I take loads of shots and then can't choose between them. Then I end up with loads of photographs filling up my phone. I keep meaning to sort them out but it's a big job. 😁
Lol yes! That's how it is, even if no other sees it, those photos are different, even just for an inch!
I know @vanessapineada7. And then I spends ages agonising over which ones to keep and which ones to delete. And there's a voice in my head that says "if it's so different to tell the differ nce between them it doesn't matter which one you keep and which ones you delete.
It doesn't help though. Most of the time I am so indecisive I just leave them all there and try again another day. usually with the same outcome! 😂
LOOOOL! And when you delete one, the voice comes back and says: "you wanted that picture, why did you delete it? It could look so great on steemit, but you deleted it".
HAPPENS TO ME ALL THE TIME
Exactly @vanessapineda7! 😂 😂 😂
It's really must be wonderful!
Unfortunely I wasn' allow to take pictures inside the theater.. But believe me: it was stunning.
