Review: Estudio Vegetariano - Great Food At The Only Vegan Restaurant in Lagos, Algarve, Portugal?
After a couple of days of sunburn pain due to me being born in Britain and being ignorant of the ways of the sun :) - We found a great vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Lagos, Portugal and enjoyed some of the best vegan food I've ever eaten.. Success!
Estudio Vegetariano is probably the only restaurant in Lagos that is totally dedicated to vegetarian food and it also has a majority of options that are vegan too. If you know of any others then let us know in the comments below. Next doors is another place called La Estrella that also has some vegan options, though the majority of dishes involve dead animals unfortunately.
In any case, I was glad to find this place and the quality of the food is very high. The decor reflects the simple philosophy of veganism - the vibe was good with a nice, chilled atmosphere. I recommend arriving early as they don't take reservations so you may have to wait a few minutes if they're busy and the best dishes sell out fast!
To begin, we had homemade bread and Hummus and marinated carrots - however, unfortunately the kitchen team made a mistake and these didn't arrive until after our main courses arrived!

I went with the lasagna of the day which was aubergine and courgette - it was the best vegan/veggie lasagna I have ever eaten - very nicely balanced and prepared. 5/5 !
My friend went with the falafel with millet tabbouleh which was also excellently prepared and contain high quality ingredients:
For dessert we went with the rich chocolate mousse and chia pina colada dessert which involved crunchy chia seeds in coconut milk and caramelised pineapple.. My personal favourite!
All the food was delicious and well presented!
Overall, a great find and I highly recommend visiting if you are near to Lagos and want to find high quality vegan food. :)

Sunburn - Aloe vera. The fresh plant if you can get it or any gel containing it if you can't. Sensitive ginger nuts understand sunburn lol..
