Skrip
Skrip is the oldest villlage on the island Brác, located on a mountain. That being the reason why the whole village is an outdoor museum for lots of tourists. Already when you come closer to the village you can see a church and a silhouette of the castle on top of a mountain. Built during the Ice Age Greek was being taken as an example for the village. During war a fortified tower was built. So there are a lot of historical buildings to see.
During our trip we also came across Skrip which is by the way located in the middle of the island. As we got there the village seemed to be empty, maybe it was just a bad timing and everyone was fast asleep having a siesta or it was just not during the main tourist season.
We went to the castle and at the beginning we were not sure if it was a private premise or not because there was an old lady watering the flowers of the garden and otherwise there was no one to be seen. The lady gladly welcomed us in and proudly told us that the castle is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. She was a very sweet old lady and after her speech we obviously didn't quite understand because we can't speak Croatian she wanted to sell us her self made oil and schnaps although we didn't buy anything she was happy enough just because she saw us and was able to talk to us.
