NOTTINGHILL TAXIS 'KARMA CARS' ALWAYS BRIGHTEN UP MY DAY
Every now and then you get to see one of the infamous Nottinghill taxis! They are called karma cabs and are adorned with flowers and red velvet upholstery. The company is owned by Tobias Moss who gave up his job as an estate valuer in london 40 years ago to pursue a more spiritual lifestyle. When asked about the idea behind his cab service he says :
''Most people think of a journey as a way of getting from A to Z,’’ he explains. ''Both Zen and Taoism say the journey is more important than arrival. I believe that karma is your destiny as directed by your actions,’’ he says. ''It’s the fruit of the seeds that you sow in your life.’’
The cabs are decked out with flashing Ganeshes lighting up the dashboards, the scent of insence and playing sounds of classical ragas or the latest world music. The cars have served many celebrity clientel includingKate Moss, Jade Jagger, John McEnroe and the Brazilian footballer Ronaldo.
