They really are a feat of engineering. They are quite lovely inside too. The monks who live there live quite well I'd say.

With the amount of tourists coming through each day, they must be making a fortune. Enough that their accommodation wings all have huge aircon machines to keep them cool.

It's not a bad line of work to get into in Greece by the looks of it ;-)
