Are there Elephants in the streets in Cape Town?

in #travel7 years ago

Although many people will be irritated by a "stupid" question like this you will be surprised to know that a massive percentage of the global population hasn't got a clue. Short answer: not any more. So you see it's not really a stupid question after all.

Elephants used to roam the area that was once the wilderness where Cape Town now stands. Even the well known Franschhoek valley was once knows as Olifantshoek ("Elephants' corner"), so named because of the elephants that crossed into the valley to calve.

Aquila Game Reserve, just 2 hours north of Cape Town is one of the first Private Parks to reintroduce Elephants to this, their once natural, Habitat.
