My Weekend Trip to UMAG [EN/DE]

Hey guys! I'm back from my tennis training camp in Croatia, because of which I had absolutely no time for Steemit in the last couple of days. Fortunately, despite six hours of tennis each day, I had the opportunity to take a short walk around Umag and relax a bit by the sea. As promised, I have photographed my impressions for you and would like to present them to you today.

Hallo Leute! Ich bin wieder zurück von meinem Tennis Trainingslager in Kroatien, aufgrund dessen ich in den letzten Tagen leider absolut keine Zeit für Steemit hatte. Zum Glück bot sich mir aber, trotz täglich sechs Stunden Tennis, die Gelegenheit, einen kurzen Stadtspaziergang in Umag zu machen und etwas am Meer zu entspannen. Wie versprochen, habe ich meine Eindrücke für euch fotografisch festgehalten und möchte sie euch heute präsentieren.

Umag is the northernmost town on the Croatian coast and is located only a few kilometres away from the Slovenian border. Also to Italy it is only about 40km and the Italian influence is clearly noticeable in the whole city.

Umag ist die nördlichste Stadt der kroatischen Küste und befindet sich nur wenige Kilometer von der slowenischen Grenze entfernt. Auch nach Italien sind es nur rund 40km und den italienischen Einfluss merkt man der Stadt ganz deutlich an.

The tiny old town is located on a small peninsula and can be explored on foot within just a few minutes. Especially cosy are the many restaurants and bars directly at the sea.

Die winzige Altstadt befindet sich auf einer kleinen Halbinsel und lässt sich in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erkunden. Besonders gemütlich sind die vielen Restaurants und Bars direkt am Meer.

The main square with its remarkable church tower is located in the center of the old town. On the opposite side of the square there is a small harbour.

Der Hauptplatz mit seinem markanten Kirchturm befindet sich im Zentrum der Altstadt. Auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite des Platzes befindet sich ein kleiner Hafen.

Most of the time I didn't spend in the old town, but in the small suburb of Katoro with its many neat and well maintained hotel and sports facilities.

Die meiste Zeit verbrachte ich jedoch nicht in der Altstadt, sondern in dem kleinen Vorort Katoro mit seinen vielen gepflegten Hotel- und Sportanlagen.

There are no sandy beaches in Umag, but the water is crystal clear and even on the rocky coast you can relax wonderfully.

Sandstrände findet man in Umag nicht, dafür ist das Wasser aber glasklar und auch an der felsigen Küste kann man wunderbar entspannen.

Nevertheless, there was no lack of sand. I spent most of my days on the red sand courts. The tennis courts are really in great condition. If you play tennis yourself, I can only recommend you to spend a few sportive days here. This is the second time I've been here and I'll be back next year for sure.

An Sand mangelte es trotzdem nicht. Auf den roten Sandplätzen verbrachte ich den Großteil meiner Tage. Die Tennisplätze sind wirklich in tollem Zustand. Wenn ihr selbst Tennis spielt, kann ich euch nur empfehlen, hier mal ein paar sportliche Tage zu verbringen. Ich war schon zum zweiten mal hier und komme sicher nächstes Jahr wieder.

Finally, a photo of my team. We've all known each other for over 15 years, but we've only developed our love of tennis in recent years. It was simply awesome to spend a few days with my best friends, a really nice contrast to my solo trips.

Zum Schluss noch ein Foto von meinem Team. Wir kennen uns alle schon über 15 Jahre, haben aber die Liebe zum Tennis erst in den letzen Jahren gemeinsam entwickelt. Es war einfach genial, ein paar Tage mit meinen besten Freunden zu verbringen, wirklich ein schöner Kontrast zu meinen Solotrips.

However, already the day after tomorrow I'm going to Kazakhstan. Of course I will keep you informed about it and wish you a nice start of the week until then!

Bereits übermorgen geht es bei mir aber schon wieder weiter nach Kasachstan. Ich werde euch natürlich wieder davon berichten und wünsch euch bis dahin einen schönen Wochenstart!
