Learn how to kitesurf - Part #3 - The Community
Kiting is awesome, but it's not a solo sport: you need a wing-man, or preferably; a more than a few. For those just catching up: This is the last of a three serie blog post where I write about kiting and how you can master it.
Part #1 https://steemit.com/life/@travelmarcus/learn-how-to-kitesurf-with-travelmarcus-part-1
Part #2 https://steemit.com/sports/@travelmarcus/how-to-kitesurf-like-richard-branson-kitesurfing-with-travelmarcus-part-2
Kiting my all time favorite destination: Cumbuco, Brazil
For this last post however I want to talk about the community, and how you become a part of it. The first thing to consider is joining a kite club - most cities (well, windy ones anyway) will have a club and they tend to do a lot of events and happenings where you can meet other kiters. The second thing is finding other kiters to join - be outgoing and honest. "Hey, I'm new to this stuff but I really want to learn how to improve my skills". After a post like that you will likely be bombarded with people who are in the exact same situation, looking for other beginners who will join a kite session. The last thing to consider is joining a kite vacation. There are a lot of companies that organize retreats (like www.lapointcamps.com, kitesisters.com, etc) all over the world, and if you join one you will meet people from all over the world who share your passion for kitesurfing.
Ok peeps, that concludes this series on Kitesurfing. I hope you've learned something, and hopefully you'll be keen to give it a go. If you are anything like me you'll love it!

The kiters ..... :D I'do wavesurfing right now in denmark and nearly got run over by a kiter yesterday, who wasnt able to control his kite :D .... but I want to try it when I have the chance, looks so cool jumping out of the water! Have fun :)
@jb-design haha I do wavesurfing too, it's much more fun when you can do both. We've all been there, when you are a beginner you don't have 100% all the time, so you might end up annoying someone (usually it's the wavesurfers though hehe). Like I mention in my first post, kitesurfers are postive including people as oppose to wavesurfers who can be downright territorial :D
very nice ,great fun it is
