TRAVELMAN PARIS: My Extra Ordinary Trip to The Eifell Tower
Yeah, it was really ordinary. Nothing special happened. Got some pictures. I didn’t go up the tower, line was long. Stop staring at the statues’ cracks.

They’ve constructed a wall around it. There is a lot of construction in the area with similar barriers and fences, so I don’t know if the wall is makeshift or permanent for security reasons. You do have to wait in line and go through security to go beyond the wall, so it seems kind of permanent. I hope it’s temporary because it gives the place a war time bunker feel.
The park area has a bunch of fences up around the grass areas as well, some of it is torn up. I just hope I came on the wrong summer, it’s not inviting. That doesn’t keep the crowds away though.
If you cross the bridge, there’s a big fountain spraying water from cannons. Kids swim in the fountain. Skateboarders skate down the road lining each side of it. So much of Paris is so impressive looking.
I didn’t see a monument to Superman for saving the tower from a nuclear bomb terrorist attack in Superman II ...kind of ungrateful to Superman if you ask me.
FYI, the Paris streets are a mosaic that seem designed to disorient tourists, so be ready for that. I haven’t been to the tower at night yet, it lights up every hour.

I’m a bit frustrated with my Paris experience as of yet. It’s hard to meet people at the hostel because it’s more like a giant hotel with a bar attached. The people I’ve met are young and American. Feeling a bit lonely, thinking of making a sad French film in black and white. Haven’t seen any French mimes either, what gives? I thought this was Paris!
I’ll be moving on in two days and have to decide on my next stop.
(This woman in the green hat is a scammer. They come up to you and ask you if you speak English. Then they tell you to sign a petition and that they’re raising money to save children or another lie. They get you to give them money and or pickpocket you. I was warned before they approached me. Consider yourself warned now.)

Sorry, you are not enjoying Paris. I visited Paris over 40 years ago and I didn't get the joy that other people seem to feel about Paris. Would I go back? Not likely.
