TRAVELMAN INDIA: A Visit to an Orphanage/Organic Cafe Down the Street from the Ashram

Ramana’s Organic Cafe and Garden is also an orphanage and it’s down the street from the Yoga Ashram where I’m studying this month. All the proceeds from the cafe go to the orphanage.

To get to the cafe, you walk to the back, you pass the kids on the way. Here they are gathered together to receive prizes for something that they’d done recently. It looked like a joyous occasion...

The places around here like to sell their sweets in the form of balls. I usually have one chocolate ball every afternoon. At the orphanage, I had a chocolate ball and a peanut butter chocolate ball... You know, for the kids.
