in #travel7 years ago (edited)

ME and my Aunt at Circulay Quay.

Located near Circular Quay Station just a short 2-5 minutes walk (depends on the speed). Clean great view and a lot of restaurants near buy from fast food to bars and high end restaurants with great view of the harbour bridge.

A wonderful old building, one of the most gracious in Sydney. Unfortunately, sometimes you don't see the beauty when you feel the shops and crowds. Now one of the busiest thoroughfares linking main roads to the station.

There're many international brands here, like: Bally, Fossil, Coach, Long Champ, Pandora, Follie Follie, Grand Seiko watch boutique, etc.

There's so many shops, eating places, from the food court to restaurants. I love the clock and you must be there on the hour as it has figurines that go around. It's lovely to see! You could spend hours in there!

The St Andrew's Cathedral is located in the heart of the bustling CBD in Sydney, next to the Town Hall. It's built following the Gothic-Anglican styled of architectural design, those commonly found in England. Very nice building and serene surrounding and has quite a long history.

We were out on our exploratory day trip around the CBD towards the Royal Botanical Gardens and passed by this place, known for its shopping. However, as one walked within the premise of the cathedral, you could feel the tranquility and peace. Information leaflets are available near the entrance and you can pick them up before you walk around the church and the things you come across or see are probably with rich historical background.

Any visit to Sydney is not complete without a visit to the opera house. You can touch the roof tiles, climb the iconic steps and take in the awesome views of the city, the harbour bridge and the harbour. There are tours available, but we didn't do one as we felt they were a little expensive.

We wandered around the whole building and although there were hordes of tourists, mainly in the front, when we walked around the 'back' of the building facing the harbour, you could still find some space and solitude, which was nice. The lines and sweep of the 'sails' were breath-taking.

What a stunning piece of architecture! The Sydney Opera House was certainly a design well before its time! A truly spectacular sight.

It's a magnificent structure, that joins two halves of Sydney. It's structure is like a giant meccano set, it sands out at sunrise, sunset & at night and is an amazing back drop to the city of Sydney.

Again visit it few days for different times of the day. It's very pretty especially sunset. If you don't want to spend money to climb the bridge, then take the train to Milson Point and walk back to the city, you will see the bridge and opera house from high point.

Getting there is easy as the train/subway system in Sydney is excellent, with its Opal card, and not that expensive considering that it is limited to a maximum fare of $15 AUD per day or $2.5 on Sunday only(in June 2017), once you have used this amount the rest of your use in the system is free.

So we took the train from our place to Circular Quay, where you could find the Harbour bridge, the Opera House, Botanical gardens, the Rocks and etc.

My recommendation to have a better view on the building is to take the Manly Ferry which also using the Opal Card.

Lovely city my favorite in Oz. I loved the rocks all the old lanes and buildings.

Yeah. They did great job preserving these heritage sites.
