Wandering Through: Prague, Czech Republic – Part #1

To travel is all about relaxing and exploring. At least for us @travelingstories. Of course, we love to see all those touristic places (they are touristic for some reason – normally they’re just awesome!), but we also like to let ourselves go and wander around charming cities, outside of the main touristic routes.

Today, on our post, we’ll be guiding you through the streets of… Prague!

Prague is the capital of Czech Republic, located in the Western part of the country. It’s easily accessed by train, car or plane. If you travel by the first two, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Austria are just a few hours away.

We @travelingstories have visited Prague twice and we’ll be back there once again, for sure. It’s just this amazing city to which we feel we haven’t dedicated enough time. There’s still much to see…

In the meantime, today we’ll be focusing on the Southern part of the city center, which includes one of the first stops we made to wonder Prague… The Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí, in Czech).

Very close to Prague Central Station, where we have arrived coming from Berlin and Wien (two cities we’ll be covering soon, here @travelingstories), it is one of the main squares of the New Town of Prague, a place dedicated to shopping and business, very close to the Historical Town Center.

As you can see from the images, the large avenue/square is surrounded by imponent buildings. One of them contrasts with the others: The National Museum.

If you walk down this avenue/square, you’ll find the way to the Historical City Center, one of the main attractions of Prague that we’ll cover soon, on our Wandering Through Prague series, so stay tuned!

If you decided to turn left at the end of this avenue/square, you’ll be heading to the riverfront (Vltava river flows through Prague), which we will also cover very soon
