7 Continents: LAOS - where everything is lovely

If you love Buddhism or Asian Culture, Laos is a great place to go. It's so beautiful and has so much to offer. Look at the amazing and artful temples. Their combination of gold, white and red makes them so pleasing to the eye in every light of the day.

Look at the wonderful artistic details found all over the temples. So many stories are told in these artworks. So much spirit and spirituality are in the air and inside of the people here.

It's a part of Buddhist life to spent a period in the temple with the monks. Mostly it's only some weeks, but it seems like it's an honored tradition that even the young people enjoy and are proud of. Reason for that is probably that Buddhism focuses most often on the positive aspects of life. It's all about how to become a calm and balanced person. Isn't that wonderful?

Of course, there is also the Lao cuisine. Amazing food. If you get there, please try it. Buddhist countries are mostly safe for eating because they have clean kitchens and very much care about their food. Still be sure everything is fresh and/or cooked. The taste is just incredible and there are so many different dishes.

Today I finish my post with this curious cave, that is filled with hundreds of Buddha statues. The cave is called Pak Ou and well worth a visit. If you want to visit, be warned that it is 25-30 km away from Luang Prabang. For me, it was must-see, because I love Buddha statues and the trip there is an Adventure on its own. Not to forget all the beautiful nature you see along the way.
