My four favourites
Firstly, I would like to apologise for not posting the past 10 days. Internet in Thailand can be very unstable, and unfortunately we found ourselves in a city where this was the case.
1. The Night Bazaar

I have been to many food markets in Thailand, and I have to say, this one was by far the best, and a mere 12 minute walk from our hotel. The market is very clean and it smells good (if you have ever been to Thailand you would know why I have to add this). The food is extremely affordable as you can see above. The grilled pork sticks were some of the most delicious things I have ever eaten, and at R4/$0.30 a piece I just could not get enough. The signature dish of Chiang Rai, the Hot Pot, can also be found here and it is a must-try. At THB150 you get a ceramic pot on coals delivered to your table together with a basket of the freshest seafood and vegetables for you to cook at your own pace.
2. Cat 'n' a Cup Cat Cafe
This is any cat lovers dream. You place your order as you walk in, and then you go through the doors to cat-heaven. There are about 20 cats in the cafe for you to pet. The cats are very friendly, but beware, they do not like being disturbed when sleeping (just like most humans). Moreover, they have a great menu with delicious breakfasts, lunch, smoothies, and appetizers. I opted for a berry frappe, and Thai pork with rice. These complemented my furry cuddling buddies well.
3. The White Temple (Wat Rong Kuhn)

We rented a scooter for three days at THB250 a day. From to hotel to the White Temple was 20 minute drive by scooter on the highway. It was an easy road with little traffic. I have learned from previous experiences that if you are female, you have to remember to pack a sarong when you plan on visiting temples. The temple is beautiful - something out of a fairytale. It is maintained well and each corner is an artwork. There are numerous sculptures and murals painted by local artists. The garden is equally beautiful. You pay THB50 to get in which is really not a lot of money for what you get to experience. The temple is smack right in the middle of town. I was quite surprised as I pictured it to be on a hill some distance out of civilisation. The amazing part about this is that regardless of the number of business around it, the temple still receives the utmost respect. This is a must see. You can take a bus from Chiang Mai if you are not staying in Chiang Rai (it takes about two hours).
4. The Night Life | The Cat Bar
Sam and Cat have owned the Cat Bar for 21 years. It is definitely one of my favourite bars in Thailand. As it says in the name, the bar is filled with decor related to cats. Other pieces include iconic posters, the history of the Harley Davidson, and some other really cool paintings. Sam is a lover of music. He has a fully kitted stage with various instruments and he invites you to jam with him. I gave in on the last night and it really was a lot of fun. Their drinks are well priced and Cat makes a mean Martini. This couple is so humble and loving and you cannot help going back. I will miss them dearly.

That looks like a lot of fun. Every stop of your travel. Maybe you shouldn't have stressed yourself with the "image sources" since they are original photos. Also, you should look up the right markdown to have spaces between the pictures. It'll be good on the eye. Lovely blog!
Thanks for the tip. The images are combined photos so they don't have spaves in between. Will keep your tip in mind with the next post.
Great post I will definitely Follow and Upvote @travelingannika I love Travel also, If you are looking for some travel inspiration I offer a Travel Bucket List series, Follow back and stay in touch!

Great pictures, and an interesting read. I'm jealous of you for being able to visit such a beautiful place. I'd love me some of those BBQ rat sticks, as I call them :) What location are you planning next?

Thank you
Looks delicious!!
Will be doing a BBQ review and tutorial soon
I just spent a week in Chiang Mai and Pai and I couldn't have enough time to visit Chiang Rai and I'm biting my hands. Especially the white temple. It looks stunning!
We did Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai and couldn't visit Pai! Was so bummed, heard amazing things.
Cat Cafe's are a growing trend apparently. Cats are renowned for making people feel calm. When I finally give up travelling I may get a cat again, but for now while the travelbug is still in me, the cat must wait. So glad you enjoyed Chiang Rai. The temples are spectacular and the people are so nice. Happy Travelling!
We have a kitten at home. Luckily my brother keeps him company while we are away. I have always been a cat person, which is one of the reasons I love Thailand so much (there's always a cat somewhere to give you some love)! :)
Thanks same as when I lived in Greece, there you had cats! I had several then one and finally none and left to come back to London. Love them.
