The Weird & Wonderful Things You Find In A Thailand Convenient Store

Hi Everyone,

Every time I’m in Asia, I love going into convenience stores. The reason is the ones in Sydney are expensive and boring. In Asia, they sell all kinds of things and the best bit, they are very reasonably priced. Sometimes if I am lucky, I may see a promo happening so this is the reason why I love convenient stores in Asia.

The food they offer at convenient stores is so good. In Thailand, there would a range of ready made meals, steamed egg, wraps, sandwiches etc all in the one place. Not only that, they even heat it up for you so don’t have to worry about it. Trust me, as a traveler, this is so convenient when you are super hungry or want to try the food but without a microwave in the hotel.

The other thing I love is the range of skincare in sample small packs for you to buy. Depending on what you are buying, they range from $1AUD to $5AUD so you can try before you buy or maybe use them whenever you feel like a change in lip colour, eye shadow etc. They are mostly Korean and Japanese brand and they all come in small compact sizes. Great for traveling or trying the product out.

The range of snacks is also pretty impressive. Need something new to try, check out the convenient store. There is also no shortage of Hello Kitty around :)

At one store, I found a Robocar Poly surprise pack. What a treat if my kids saw them at the store. I refrained from buying it because there was only 1 left and I needed 2 to avoid any fights when I got home.

Another item I found fascinating was called tooth powder. Not much English on the packet but basically it is for you to brush your teeth with it and make it clean and shiny. The packing looked like a Chinese herbal pack and if I took it home, my parents might mistake that for a herbal drink.

The last thing I do like about the convenient stores is they have Asian energy and health drinks. Chicken essence from Brands is expensive in Sydney selling at around $30 for 6 bottles but there it is like 1/4 of the price. They even have birds nest which is rare in Sydney. I love this section of the store just to check out what is available and buy a few bottles during the duration of my stay. So there you go. If you go to Thailand, remember to check out the convenient stores, its super good just like all the other ones in Asia I have been to maybe a little bit more exciting as I don’t know the language and discovering new things is fun!

去亞洲我最喜歡就是逛他們便利店. 為什麼？是因為澳洲的便利店沒有東西買而且很貴，當地人很少去買東西. 亞洲因為人口多和密所以要多點產品供應給大家還有價錢也會跟其他店差不多. 今次去泰國是指定動作逛便利店. 真是太多東西可以買，每次進去都會一定買點東西出來. 看到相片就知道有多好買，多開心哈哈.
