Mountains, Drones and Boats. Off-roading in a Thai national Park.
2 hours from Bangkok is Khao Yai national park. Just outside the park reserve is a place called Klong Ma Dua in Nakhon Nayok. Fresh water flows through mountainous jungle almost year round. Being the rainy season, there's lots of water right now.
The only way in, is along an off-road track either by a 4WD vehicle or motorbike. I had been riding there before but this time- I had come to boat and fly!I had heard that after a rain storm the day before, the water level was high in most parts and rafting was possible. Out along the main stretch of river/stream inflatable boats could be hired- but those areas were busy and the crowds of people spoiled the peaceful feel of real nature.
Traveling in along the flooded track we got deeper and deeper into the mountains- wildlife was abundant, which is always good to see and hear. River crossings where still passable and we made it across each time. We inflated the boat and the plan was to 'raft' a kilometer or 2 down through the jungle valley- dump the boat and walk back along the track (which more or less followed the water) to the truck, drive out and collect the boat on the return.
We managed to park up in a clearing next to the water. The gap in the trees was safe enough to allow me to take off and I managed to get a short flight in. Obstacle avoidance was going crazy on the Mavic Pro but I flew slow as to not crash (again!) The video is at the top of the post.

What a fresh and stunning feel for the forest and running water!
You are really adventurous and brave to go places where 'normal' people would not dare to go!
Such a good trip through the jungle!
Its really nice there and always fun to get to the real countyside
Need to take my bike out there the next time I venture that way, Nakhon Nayoke looks like it has way more potential than Khao Yai1
and when you get too hot, theres always somewhere nice to cool off
Lovely post! I will follow you for more!
