Road Trip - South Western Cape

I have been absent from Steemit for a few days... withdrawal symptoms were severe. I had my mobile wifi with the intention to blog on each evening... but alas alack there was no signal in the area I was. So here just a short (mostly photo's)post to ease some of the withdrawal symptoms.

We headed towards the south western cape to a small town called Bonnievale. Along the way we saw many birds … as well as while at the Breede River

Ten kilometres outside Bonnievale we had rented a log cabin for a couple of days. The weather was rainy with a strong south westerly wind blowing.

Below is a picture of the Breede River from which we were hoping to catch some dinner

while this Egyptian Goose cruises down the river, not a care in the world

and the Cape BulBul grooms himself …. Just in case of a chance encounter with a female

No luck with the bass or anything else for that matter. So popped into town for some chicken livers to at least have some sport

Catfish… shoot and release.. and these at least kept us entertained

Next morning early up to a splendid calm, sunny day. Below this picture taken perhaps 20 minutes before sunrise

The rest of the time we just read books and let the stress of the city fade away!!

I feel so much better now, having re-entered Steem world. I still need to complete the Otter Trail posts, as well as time to once again feature a music legend.
