the mosque is the mosque of the Sultanate of Aceh and built by the young Sultan Iskandar and became one of the grandest mosques in Southeast Asia as well as the iconic veranda of Mecca. this mosque is a mosque pride of the people of Aceh and located in downtown Banda Aceh which is adjacent to the traditional market of Aceh. this beautiful and unique architectural mosque besides having seven domes, four towers and one master tower, its room is also an Italian-made marble floor that can accommodate up to 9,000 jama'ah.
the mosque is also a silent witness to Aceh's history of the event of the tsunami disaster December 24, 2004. This mosque was also remembered as a refuge. Without its existence, we can not imagine how the disaster victims should flee to where in Banda Aceh. but it is also a miracle that can happen anytime and anywhere in accordance with God Almighty's will.
Baiturrahman Raya Mosque is now a tourist attraction in Aceh where tourists remember the most heartbreaking disaster, in addition to seeing this Mosque Travelers can also visit the Tsunami Museum filled with evidence of the incident that was taken from tsunami debris that witnessed the historythe.
