Travelling to winterland - Ufa
When I wrote my introduction post I said that I'm working as a manager in one civil engineering company with often trips to Iraq in search for projects, negotiations with investors etc. But, I didn't mention that my first project in this company was in Ufa, Russian Federation. We constructed over there big shopping mall, the best shopping mall in Russia among big malls for 2014 year. I worked and lived in Ufa for a whole year and got a great experience for that period. Not including the business success, the best thing that happened to me during that period is that I met my girlfriend over there and we are in long distance relationship for already 3 years.
I will write about my adventures and experiences from the period when I lived there in future posts and now I am going to write about my last trip to Ufa a few days ago, 3500 km from my home in Serbia.
After 3 hour flight from Belgrade to Moscow, 2 hour flight from Moscow to Ufa and all together 8 hour trip finally I landed in Ufa. As I was starving, firstly we had a lunch and after a short rest we already were on the road to her native village where her grandmother lives. I've never been there so it was a chance to see what Russian villages look like, how people live there and of course to visit her family.
In this period of year almost every part of Russia is covered with snow so the Ufa is not an exception. Because the village is 250 km far from Ufa and the roads are in very poor conditions our trip lasted for 4 hours. After we arrived in the late evening, finally I got a chance to take a rest after a long day with a nice talk with the hosts and a glass of homemade wine.
In the morning we woke up early and after we had a nice breakfast, their national dish called pelmeni, we went for a walk across the village to see all the beauty it brings.
Since I grew up in the village in Serbia before I moved to Belgrade, it was interesting to see how the Russian village looks like. And one thing they have in common, wonderful nature.
I can imagine how beautiful it looks in the summer. In the meanwhile, here are some photos I took of these beautiful winter landscapes. Enjoy!
