Catacombs of Paris / Paris'in yer altı mezarları ( ENG-TR)

Millions of tourists visit Paris, the capital of France every year. When you arrive at this city, visiting Eiffel Tower is the first thing that many people prefer to do, but Paris is not only about Eiffel Tower. This city offers you many different and interesting places to visit. If you feel satisfied enough with your Eiffel Tower tour, let me introduce you another interesting point in Paris. Catacombs of Paris are purely incredible place for visitors. This is more than a graveyard. it also has art and respect to people who died in this magnificient city many years ago.

In 18 and 19th centuries, cemeteries in Paris were full of corpses. These rotten corpses were causing water to get dirty and it was a target for public health. People in the city got an idea to respect these corpses and solve this problem in the city. They decided to put bones of 6 millions people under the city of Paris in 1975. All the corpses were taken from cemeteries and placed in catacombs of Paris. Since then, this place has been protected by French government. Only 2 kms of catacombs are open to visit for visitors. If you want to visit this place, you should buy tickets in advance because it is really popular. If you fear of darkness, I recommend you not to visit it.
