Water Taxis in Zhou Zhuang, China
Zhou Zhuang is a water city, like Venice, Italy. It is about an hours ride from Shanghai and it was early spring when we visited. The city is built around 9 stone arch bridges with canals for streets. The water taxis circulate through the canals constantly, with tourists from many nations. Unfortunately, the large temple in the village was under renovation and was blocked off but a smaller temple was open. All the canals have food and souvenir shops but the larger restaurants populate the wider canals.
