Travel Quote of the Day #3 ++ Reflection Moment
"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children"
― Unknown
I took this photo in Castle of Almourol, Portugal.
Although this quote is not directly related to travelling, I think that when you travel you can see with your own eyes the importance of Mother Earth and the effects that humans have on It.
You realize that big cities were born along rivers because of the abundance of resources they provide and easy mean of transportation. Soon to become polluted and unforested.
You admire different cultures and their history and how they come to be. The importance it has to their people. You question the values you were thought and you think on how to create a brighter future.
You gasp at amazing natural landscapes that have been untouched by human interaction. You cry when you dive on the Great Barrier Reef and most of the coral is loosing its colour..
All of this makes you appreciate the few pure places there are left. Makes you think on how you can leave a better natural Patrimony for our next generations.. Mother Earth has enough for all of us if we know how to share.
Thank you for your attention.
