Wang Ban Puen, a beautiful ancient palace in European style, in Phetchaburi province, Thailand
Wang Ban Puen is one of the beautiful palaces of our ancient King, King Chulalongkorn the Great (Rama V).
The palace is very large and fascinating.
The palace was built over 100 years ago. It’s in European modern style which was designed by a German architect.
Wang means palace
Ban means house
Puen means gun (in this case, means artillery)
There are four huge artilleries at the four corners of the palace. They were made of bronze. I think that’s why this palace is named “Wang Ban Puen”.
In the meantime, its official name is “Phra Ram Ratchaniwet”.
A statue of the King that stays in front of the palace is very beautiful and looks outstanding.
Apart from the beauty of the palace, you can also admire the wonderful garden around the palace.
The atmosphere is nice and it’s relaxing and refreshing with a lot of trees.
Especially the fairly wide banyan tree and other large trees, they are really awesome.
Visiting the palace will not disappoint you, for sure!
Yes this looks typically european.
