It’s amazing that the footprint of our Lord Buddha was found on a rock in the middle of the Mekong River which was well-known as “Phra Bat Wern Pla”.

Phra means Lord Buddha

Bat means foot

It’s said that this is the only footprint in the world that sits on the rock in the middle of the river and it is a sacred footprint that Thai and Laos people have respected since ancient times. (the age of this footprint was approx. 2,000 years…)

It emerges during the dry season of each year only.

You have to walk on the wooden bridge into the river to reach "Phra Bat Wern Pla".

According to our belief, if we worship the "Phra Bat Wern Pla", we will have happiness and prosperity in our life.….

It’s located in Nakornpranom province, in the North East of Thailand.

It's amazing how many such places there are all over the world - footprints on rocks of the Mother of God, or of God himself... (of course, not only Buddha). But is this rock in the river accessible, or it could only be admired from afar?

Ah! Good question! This rock can be reached by boat or you can worship the Lord Buddha's footprint from the wooden bridge that you see in the picture. It's amazing how many such places there are all over the world indeed... Many thanks for stopping by! ;)
