Magnificent Architecture at Wat Phra Singh, in Chiang Mai province, in the North of Thailand - Part I

Wat Phra Singh is one of the most important temples in Chiang Mai province, in the North of Thailand.

It is an ancient temple. The buildings in this temple are all beautiful with magnificent Lanna architecture.

This temple enshrines Phra Singh (or Phra Phuttha Sihing) that is the sacred Buddha statue of Chiang Mai and Lanna.

During Songkran Festival or the Thai traditional New Year festival, we put Phra Singh on a beautifully decorated car parade around the city. Many people on both sides of the road worship and bathe the Buddha statue for the blessing.

The mural paintings are impressive.
