Mae Sariang, a peaceful town in Mae Hong Son province, in the North of Thailand
Mae Sariang is one of the districts in Mae Hong Son province that is very interesting and worth exploring.
It is a very quiet district where people live a simple and slow life. It’s good for relaxing comfortably and absolutely avoids the chaos.
Besides, Mae Sariang is distinctive in art and culture that has characteristics of Shan mixed with Lanna. You can notice that the pagoda in Mae Sariang is similar in shape to a temple in Shan State, Myanmar.
As religions play important roles in each community, in Mae Sariang, there are Buddhist temples and Islamic mosques as well.
Walking in Mae Sariang town, you can feel the atmosphere of the old days of the northern part; i.e.
people’s old wooden houses and restaurants….
various colorful lanterns hanging in front of their houses and around the town….
Mae Sariang fresh market….
Last but not least, no need to explain more, I think one of their awesome Graffiti art as below can describe well about this small town, Mae Sariang….
