In the past, Wah Kor was the village that used to be a place His Majesty King Mongkut, King Rama IV, calculated that there would be a total eclipse of the sun. It can be clearly seen there on August 18, 1868.
The king also came to view the solar eclipse at this place along with his son, daughter, and courtiers, as well as letting foreigners to join in viewing this phenomena.
There is King Mongkut's Monument to memorize him.
Inside the King Mongkut's Science Park, there is Waghor aquarium, Astronomy and Space building, ancient steam locomotive, Waghor beach, butterfly garden, etc.
