Hidden Hill of Snow (Get out there and have fun!)

in #travel7 years ago

Behind our favorite park, if you cross over the bridge is the huge humongous hill. In the summer months our dogs run up and down it wearing each other out. The scene changes into a snowy fortress once winter hits though. The once bright, green, vibrant hill turned into and icy snow covered tundra.

If you visit at the right point, when there is still inches of snow covering the ground, you can drag your sleds to the top and go flying down. You want to be partial on what side you pick though, because you could go tumbling into the stream if you pick the right spots.

I remember a time we went before our youngest was born and our oldest's sons Aunt went flying off the edge of the cricks bed and we all went flying down the hill to see if she was okay. Thankfully the stream had frozen over enough that it held her weight without cracking. We would giggle as we pushed each other back up the hill to go down 10 more times before we would leave for the day.

Even though it's blistering cold here, we try to make the best of each situation and play in whatever weather nature decides to give us. Snow can be fun, and bundling up in tons of layers reminds me of my childhood. If you've never had the pleasure of sledding our seeing snow I encourage you to travel to a place where you can! It's a different experience as a whole, and one I believe you should try before leaving this beautiful place.

Have a great day and go explore somewhere today!
