Some photographs from a walk in the German countryside...
Yesterday I went for a walk with a friend in some of the nice German countryside, which made for an amazing contrast to my usual experience of Germany - Berlin.
Anyways, due to my camera being out of commission for this trip, I had to make do with my phone for taking pictures. Hopefully you will be able to see just how amazingly green and vibrant and alive the outdoors is out here, and maybe get some ideas to explore it yourself sometime.
This first photo was taken during some rainfall. The thick canopy of trees overhead acted as excellent protection from the rain itself, so what came through was a lesser mist which is not as easy to see.
The kind of forest is a mixed forest, with many different kinds of trees growing. This is quite different to a lot of the forests in Ireland which are now "managed forest" and are often only pine trees. In the mixed forest, there are a lot more different colours of green and lighting changes as you walk through.
As I may have mentioned... The canopy is really quite thick. This is not the thickest part, but I am told that the trees are not in full bloom of leaves yet. The lighting beneath the canopy can be quite eerie as the eyes need to adjust to the colours being different.
Finally... A nice view of a village at a lower altitude. There was forest in the way of much of the picture, but you get the general idea!
I'll probably take more pictures as I explore the area, I barely have walked even one small section of it so far, and it is very varied. If anyone has any tips or advice on trying to take nature photos with a phone camera, I'd be glad to hear of them!
Great post! Yes, Germany can be really beautiful on some days in some regions, that's true! I don't know, if you can improve the quality (colors, saturation, contrast) of your phone camera, but you could try an image effect like "glow" in Pinta for example ;)
Enjoy your time here!
