Travel with me (Live Edition) - J'adore Paris
Greetings Steemit friends:
As you know, I am currently in Paris thanks to a last minute decision to join my friends from London on their crusades around Paris this weekend.
So far, I'm absolutely loving Paris. Anywhere I go, I feel like I'm surrounded by history and very rich European culture. With the first round of the French elections under way, Paris is busy as ever. I'm also very sad to hear about the shootings at Champ Elysée just a few hours before I arrived. My condolences go out to the family of the victim and others who are affected.
My night rounded out with a trip to one of the Paris' most popular cabarets - Crazy Horse.
Much like Moulin Rouge, the show features many beautiful girls performing a variety of acts mostly naked! Even so, the show was very tastefully executed.
The stage design was splendid, and the dancers were stunning. I also really liked many of the outfits the girls wore. Apparently Christian Louboutin was one of the key designers of the clothes worn by the performers as well as many of the stage props. With so much deep red, I instantly felt his design flair come through.
Even though my knowledge of French culture is limited, I feel like Crazy Horse represents French culture in many ways. The style of music, the style of clothes and of course it's liberal acceptance of nudity.
For me, it's a show that is definitely worth visiting again. Especially as the show is refreshed quite regularly with new acts and some famous performers.
The stage isn't too big, and the seating is completely full!
The whole stage makes use of a projector for on stage effects.
Everything is a deep red theme, really pulling on design cues from Christian Louboutin!
The next day, I was excited to visit one of the highlights of Paris, no, not the Eiffel Tower (I'll get to that later) but the Sacre Coeur at Montmartre!
The Sacre Coeur is also known as the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris.
Designed by Paul Abadie, it started construction in 1875 and was completed in 1914.
Because it is situated at the highest point in the city. There are some great views of the city and conversely, the Basilica can be seen from far in most places in the city.
Taking photos either from the top or bottom yields some very pretty backdrops.
What a fantastic view of the city from the plateau.
The Basilica itself is very symmetrical with its triple domes.
At the front, at the plateau there is a lot of space for people to wonder around and enjoy the magnificent views as well as the lovely scenery.
Inside the Basilica, there was a service underway so there were many attendees in addition to the visitors.
The church is supported by all the visitors who can make a small donation for the candles.
Here are some panorama shots to see a wider field of view.
Tomorrow is my final day in Paris, and so i'll be making short visits to the other main landmarks. I think I need to stay a couple more days if I want to see everything but at least I have an excuse to come back !
What an epic post once again!
Thanks a lot for sharing your French escapade with us all, it was definitely appreciated from this end. Merci beaucoup! Namaste :)
Thanks eric, bienvenue!

fu*k, you are a so rich girl
If only! Life experiences are priceless though , always better to have them than money!
i know, but i can not travel around the world like you, because i am not rich as you, i have to work to make money, maybe you can not understand.
Let's work towards achieving a world where we can all afford fancy holidays, rather than condemn those who are already able to enjoy life like that.
