Visiting Segovia-The heritage city of the world!

Today I want to talk to you about a beautiful city that I had the opportunity to visit.

  The old city presents its tourist to various historic buildings dating from the Roman Era to the Enlightenment, some of them have suffered powerful changes through the time but were later rehabilitated. Some of the city treasures that I had the opportunity to visit are The Alcazar Castle,the Cathedral of Segovia and the Aqueduct.

  It is indeed one of the most incredible cities I have seen in my entire life. The atmosphere is so peaceful and the views are pretty unique. All the photos are taken from the highest tower of the Alcazar Castle, a beautiful building dating back to 1122. The castle blends the roman architecture to the gothic design, in 1862 it was devastated in a fire and later rebuit.

  One interesting thing is that the castle is said to be the inspiration for the well known Disney's Snow White's Castle. Climbing the 156 crooked steps of the tower, you'll find yourself admiring the most beautiful view, the castle has an unique construction, being shaped like a bow of a ship.

The Cathedral of Segovia was built in 16th century and it is oftenly called 'La dama de las catedrales'. It was built in the gothic style in massive stone blocks. The glass windows of the cathedral take a bright color becuase of the sun’s reflection. The huge doors from the outside are certainly the most original doors. It's surely an imposing buiding with a long and fascinating history.

  If you're looking for a place to eat, Segovia offers it's tourists a nice variety of restaurants. I strongly recommend El Bernardino, it has tables outside and you can watch the beautiful view of the city. The specialty of the local restaurants is roast suckling pig(cochinillo asado), a true gastronomic delight.
