WELCOME TO PARADISE STEEMERS!

Feeling safe travelling abroad

Due to terroristic attacks and other safety concerns, European travel destinations have suffered considerable market breaks lately. Canary Islands have been one of the lucky devils in this process. Belonging to Spain but being located far away from the mainland (close to Africa in the Atlantic Ocean) it has been well protected from any kind of militant movements. Being an archipielago the islands have their own natural borders which impede considerable criminal attacks. The crime rate is below any European average. Life here is basicly focused on peace, harmony and an outstanding natural environment I will show you in this photograph story.

Actually Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are the islands which mostly have been growing during the last year. In high season hotels are fully booked and there may times you won´t find even a bed at the corridor. And this is happening for a reason!

Every year there are more airlines opening up new flight connections to Canary Islands. My very favorite one is Norwegian Airlines - low cost but absolutely new airplanes with a lot of space and excellent service.

So let´s go - here is my dedication of love to Lanzarote <3

Pictures:
1) "La Graciosa" - neighbour island of Lanzarote with views over the (in my eyes) most beautiful beach of all Canary Islands called "Las Conchas"
2) "Mirador del Rio" - views over neighbour island "La Graciosa". "El Rio" (the river) is the name of the waterway between Lanzarote and La Graciosa. Every year there is taking place a crazy swim contest where well trained swimmers paddle 2.6km from one island to the other fighting hard against strong currents (and animals under water surface I suppose...haha). The day I took this picture they where just starting the race! Sports are insane sometimes..:-)

Look at the white sand - a rare treasure on the volcanic Canary Islands. It is taken by the winds coming from the deserts of Africa!! Isn´t nature awesome?

The burned island

Lanzarote is called "the burned island" since it is the Canary Island which is recognized by its huge and beautiful lava fields. The contrasting coloring between the black land, the dark blue Ocean and the white painted flat roofed houses is unique and will make you fall in love.

Pictures (above and below): "Los Hervideros" - beautiful spot where waves push water into small caves and produce natural fountains. Look at these huge lava fields, isn´t this breath taking! Many many ears ago these stones were melted into a burning river!

Heritage of Cesar Manrique

There won´t be any chance to visit Lanzarote without getting to know the famous "César Manrique". Born in 1919 and died in 1992 this painter, arquitect, sculptor and environmental activist left an amazing heritage of Art on the island. Here´s my favorite one:

Surfer´s paradise

As almost on every Canary Island you´ll also find perfect surfing spots on Lanzarote. My very favorite one is Famara Beach - a kind of wild one with almost uncalculable conditions which can change from one moment to another. This place is real fun - rather recommended for beginners and cracks, not really for the intermediate level.

La Graciosa

La Graciosa is the little sister of Lanzarote, a beautiful undiscovered paradise. You can reach it by ferry which takes 30 minutes from one island to another. The wide landscapes and lost beaches you can find there are breath taking! A definite must-see for nature lovers.

Soul foud

As on every Canary Islands the best food comes out of the water. Plates of seafood and fish are simply incredible and I cannot get enough of it!

Hot pepper production

You won´t believe it but the most considerable chili and tomato seed production on a worldwide level is located on Lanzarote. The climate conditions here are perfect since temperature, sunlight and winds are constant during the whole year. That´s why people call this place "the infinite spring", you might also call it "endless summer" :-) You like growing the really hot stuff? Then you should visit www.semillas.de, a 15 years old family business with international recognition. The experienced owner grows every plant with his own hands, so the quality of generated seeds is excellent. At the moment there are about 1,000 different typs of seeds available in the shop. Who would know which one to chose...?!

Thank you, I am glad you liked it! :-)

I have been before but genuinely didn't know about the chilli place!

It´s located here since two years. Before they were producing on the island "La Palma". Furthermore it´s not promoted, so people usually don´t know if they don´t know the online shop and are in contact with the owner.
